A simple extension to an existing house takes advantage of the views to the surrounding countryside. The feature window in the living area frames the vista while the wood burner sits to the side allowing the occupants to take it all in. Love the use of tongue and groove panelling to add to the country flavour. The rooms are almost Shaker like in their simplicity but there is no doubting that this is modern Australian design. If I’m not curled up in front of the fire and the view I’ll be soaking in the tub with the view. The Plinth House by Luke Stanley Architects.
Renovate. Restore. Renew. Redo. Rework. Recreate. Relive. The Stonington/Lincoln Residence designed in 1945 by John Lincoln and brought back to life by Joeb Moore & Partners. New life built on solid foundations.
A little piece of paradise to fill my dreams tonight. Another stunning garden by São Paulo landscape designer Alex Hanazaki.
This townhouse development responds to the existing streetscape by appearing as a large single residence. Within, each dwelling is highly individual; each with their own character, dramatic interior spaces and private gardens. A simple, robust palette of materials reinforce the sculptural form and ensure the building will age gracefully.
What I love most about this townhouse is the statement repeat of black lines, in the screen, in the panelling, in the staircase. A contemporary stylish space, Washington Avenue by Melbourne based Pandolfini Architects.
Big. Brash. Pool. Splash. When your house is a showstopper your pool can’t be an afterthought. Brilliant Brazilian landscape design by São Paulo based Alex Hanazaki.
