The perfect combo of new and old, traditional and contemporary. Love this simple and stylish bedroom by mother-daughter design duo Brownlow Interior Design.

Wooden heart

Posted on Mon, 15 Jun 2015 by midcenturyjo

A modern 2 storey extension to a modest wooden cottage includes a new kitchen, dining area and master suite. The unusual shape allows for light to flood into the rooms while fitting neatly within the awkward suburban block. Concrete and white walls are warmed by the extensive use of timber. The heart of the home with a wooden heart. Fenwick by Julie Firkin Architects.

Working on a Saturday

If you have to work on the weekend then it should be somewhere stylish. Loving the new offices for BlueSky Alternative Investments by Brisbane-based Marc&Co Architects. Clever use of open space planning, applied decoration and bright, modern colour palette. The sort of place I’d want to spend a Saturday hard at work.

Eclipse

Eclipse: outshine, overshadow, put in the shade, surpass, exceed, excel, be superior to, outclass, top, trump, transcend, tower above/over

Eclipse: a stunning 5 bedroom Palm Beach (Northern Beaches of Sydney) holiday home high above the waves. Via Contemporary Hotels.

More from Amber Road

I’ve featured the bedroom before. It’s one of my all time favourites but I thought it was time to post the whole house. Yum! I’m in love with this Cronulla Residence by Amber Road. The restrained colour palette warmed by timber tones, the layering of texture, the light, the luxury of simple, contemporary lines.
