Hello Marcus Lawett. You don’t know me but I feel like I know you. You’re my new photographer crush. Well not so new. I’ve loved your work for a few years now. Your photos blow me away. The unusual angles, the interesting points of view, the depth of field, the light, the way you include a sense of movement. Brilliant!

Beating the heat with green

It’s crazy hot right now where I live. My thoughts turn to ways of beating the heat… with green. Not greenery. No… with green. How refreshing is this all white retreat by French interior designer Luis Laplace? Made even more so by the green. On the ceiling. Yes please!

Citizens of the World

Dominic Loneragan and Meghan McTavish are CITIZENS OF THE WORLD. People, places, product. They promote, collaborate and support creatives while producing the most drool worthy candles, COTW Artisan Fire, themselves. Kim recently featured a house they shot and since then I’ve been losing myself on their website, especially their COTW HOMES. Here’s a little peak into the places and spaces you will find.

Eating in, eating out

Inspiration for eating in from a fab photo of somewhere to eat out. I’m stealing ideas for my kitchen redo from the portfolio of photographer Kristofer Johnsson… again.

Has a whole month passed by already since the last issue of my favourite magazine, Inside Out? Really? I would not have believed it until the email from Managing Editor Lee Tran Lam popped into my in box.

This is from the cover story of our December issue, which comes out on Thursday. It features the home of Debbie and Eugene Tan, the very sweet couple who operate the immensely popular Aquabumps blog. Given the surging waves and sundazed shots that feature on their site, it’s no surprise that they live at Bondi Beach. The influence on the home, though, comes from Bali, where the pair got married. The interiors and outdoor areas cross over in seamless ways and, let’s just say that there’s no shortage of vitamin D flowing through their house! You may find yourself with a tan after looking at their residence. This light and bright home is definitely worth putting on your wish list! Styling by Jason Grant. Photography by Grace Cassio.

Oh I’m in love. It’s like summer has finally arrived. Don’t worry if you can’t pick up a copy of the magazine on Thursday. You can also download it digitally via Zinio, Google PlayApple Newsstand and Nook.
