That’s what the print says and that may be true… or not 🙂 What I am noticing though is the demise of the overstuffed, the over thought, the over tweaked, the overdone. Be still my beating heart. I’m having palpitations. My favourite architectural real estate site Modern House has a new listing and it has me in a spin. Rippon House (1971) by Gerry Rippon of Towell & Rippon. I think I could have called this post stalking chair porn. An amazing house, an amazing collection of furniture.
(A and C abandon your families. Rob a bank. We need to pool resources and buy this baby.)
It’s a Park Avenue apartment but loosened up. Not your typical over tweaked, over stuffed, over styled, karate chop designer pad. Simplified, formality removed, family friendly, relaxed. An oasis of calm in the maddening Big Apple. By multi disciplinary design practice De-SPEC.
This dining room brings a smile to my face. Don’t you love it when that happens? By interior decorator and stylist Marion Alberge.
The flexible design of the space within this London home allows it to be used by in a number of ways by family members. A pied-à-terre at one end with loft bedroom, turn another way, open the doors and now a three bedroom flat. The folding screens providing privacy to the loft are polycarbonate. A modern redesign with elegant Victorian proportions by VW + BS Architecture and Design.
