It’s modern. It’s concrete and glass, metal and timber. It’s a series of blocks and voids. It’s solid yet light and it sits proudly under an old fig tree next to neighbours steeped in history. It’s the Paddington Residence by Brisbane based Ellivo Architects.
A house and a tiny apartment. Both perfectly imperfect. Yes there are gaps and cracks. White paint unites disparate surfaces and eras. Art draws the eye. Style and personality and something I can’t put my finger on. The frisson of wabi sabi? One thing I do know. There are not enough photos! I need to see more. The first house is in Avalon with the link here. The second is a bijou home in Potts Point. Who needs a sofa when friends can gather round your table. Link here while it lasts.
Rough and sleek, old and new, neutral and black. Walls softened by fabric and mezzanine of OSB. Even a false door. Big on style and small in square metres. 29sqm by Polish architects 3XA.
It’s that time of the week again. Stalking leftovers. Lovely homes? Yes… well… er… maybe. You see I am very finicky when it comes to my virtual real estate stalking. Fussy, particular, choosy, picky and hard to please. Not quite right, bad photos, more photos please, house is amazing furniture is deplorable or the other way around, can’t quite put my finger on it listings but all with something that has me nodding “yes”. This week I’m drawn to colour, bathtubs and wishbone chairs. All via realestate.com.au.
