Feeling blue …

… in the best way. I love this small atelier designed by Parisian designer extraordinaire Sarah Lavoine. To drown in the deep sea blue yet be bouyed by walls of white and rafts of texture. Petite yet packed with style.

Stalking in Sweden

Posted on Sat, 22 Jun 2013 by midcenturyjo

I’m stalking on a Saturday but not on my home turf. I’m stalking a rather special apartment in Stockholm. Two floors of contemporary style meets old world charm, sleek chic meets aged natural finishes. It’s the home of Filippa Knutsson designed by Bjorn and Marianne Aaro of Aaro Architects. Swoon. Old dark timbers and new Dinesen oak floors, white walls and dark trim. I’d keep it just the way it is. A perfect marriage of modern and an earthy ethnic vibe. Sadly for us all it is no longer available but you’ll find the link here while it lasts.

Shoot me

That’s it. Put me out of my misery. Just shoot me because I fell in love with a yellow chair I found on sfgirlbybay and followed the link and lost my heart to a home I will never have on location maestros Shoot Factory‘s books and I’m distraught. Just shoot me. Put me out of my misery. More photos here.

Mr Call Designs

Yes he does and his look is tailored and masculine but not stuffy and contrived. New York based interior designer Jon Call has a take on rooms that is stylish yet casual and never stuffy. Love the layout of the studio apartment at the beginning of this post. The screen is so clever. Mr Call Designs.

Just like friends of friends. People you get to know but don’t really know… if you know what I mean. Once again one of our friends from Freunde von Freunden have shared a few images from their latest interview and home and office tour. Patrice Bastian, creative director and architect, and Laetitia Schlumberger, fashion designer. An amazing house in the 10th arrondisement, Paris and an intiguing story of creative ideas and lasting love found in China. Just a tease here on Desire to Inspire. You’ll have to pop over to Freunde von Freunden to discover more. Photography by Fred Lahache. Story by Léa Munsch.
