An English kitchen

Posted on Wed, 26 Oct 2016 by midcenturyjo

Oh I do love an English kitchen. The wooden cabinets, in this case with a bold navy finish, the pantry cupboard, a big stove with a mantle. I love the amazing light flooding through the windows in this particular example and we don’t need to mention the floors. It’s not the first time I’ve had my head turned by Blakes London (you can see more posts here) and I’m sure it won’t be the last.

Working on a Saturday

Two dentist’s surgeries in 2 weeks. I must be getting over my phobia! I would definitely have no problems dragging myself into the office on a Saturday if I worked in such a space. I’d even consider being a regular patient. So sophisticated, so chic. By Summer Thornton Design.

Modern farmhouse

Modern farmhouse with a touch of mid century and boho. It’s a bold, fun mix and match, stylish and totally liveable. Love the cheerful shout out of the front door and that beautiful Hmong textile bedhead. Sonoma Farmhouse by Dehn Bloom.

“I worked with many of the client’s existing pieces on this project and took my color cues from the art painted by the lady of the house herself. They were willing to take risks with bold pattern and combining new with the old. I think the result is a highly individual, collected feeling abode that exudes warmth and character.”Jayme Armour Interiors

It’s that mix of old and new with the home owner’s existing pieces centre stage that draws me to this lovely home. The pinks and blues, the subtle pattern on pattern. It’s light, fresh revitalisation. (P.S. I just know I’d get on with the owners if their wine cork collection is anything to go by.)

A fresh take on a traditional look by Melbourne-based interior designer Adelaide Bragg. This weekender has been given new life with a kitchen and bathroom remodel while a master suite on the first floor provides an adults’ retreat within the retreat. A colour palette of blues, whites and neutrals are an extension of the ocean and golf course views.
