A stone’s throw

Posted on Fri, 20 Nov 2020 by midcenturyjo

“Across the road from Little Manly beach, this timber clad beach house was designed for clients who have a love for tropical plantation homes of yesteryear. It is adorned by rare vintage Moroccan rugs and cane collectables.”

From the vintage cane (hello pretzel chairs) to the cascading plants and fabulous staircase there is so much to love about this relaxed beachside home in Little Manly on Sydney’s Northern Beaches by Jase Sullivan. AND it’s only a stone’s throw to the beach!

Oh so French

Posted on Wed, 18 Nov 2020 by midcenturyjo

Luxury details in a Haussmannian apartment. Isn’t that what we all crave in our dream Parisian home? Located between Place de la Concorde and the Elysée Palace, this 230m2 home has a fresh contemporary look with that oh so French style. “Faubourg Saint-Honoré” by interior architects and designers Le Berre Vevaud.

Colour and charm, exuberance and personality, family and formality. A multitude of gathering spaces for a family and their friends in this Wilmette Victorian renovation by Chicago-based Jen Talbot Design.

“A former ballroom is the setting of this exquisitely designed two-bedroom apartment. It is situated on highly sought-after Courtfield Gardens in Kensington, with a private balcony terrace overlooking a verdant churchyard square, to which it has resident’s access … The design seizes on the dramatic scale offered by four-meter ceilings and huge south-facing French windows at the front aspect.”

Apologies for posting more amazing homes from The Modern House. I had no idea that Kim had posted one of their properties yesterday until after I had uploaded these fabulous pics but I don’t think you’ll mind. I mean look at this apartment! The soaring ceilings, the Crittall wall, that verdant balcony with views over a churchyard AND all in Kensington. Out of my price range but a girl can dream. First impressions matter

You now what they say. First impressions matter and this wallpapered entry hall certainly makes a statement. Life’s too short for boring beige. Queen’s Gate Residence, London by Nebihe Cihan Studio.
