Take a New Zealander. Wind his career path through Australia, the States, Singapore and land him in Sweden after training with some of the best photographers around and who do you get? Karl Anderson. Love the vibe of these photos. As you can imagine there are influences from all around the world but with his present base that bright white Swedish light shines through in many of these. As for the iconic furniture pieces in a number of these shots, well what can a blogger do but sigh! Great shots, great talent. Images from Karl’s website and from his rep’s.

There’s a grittiness yet a softness to stylist Stella Nicolaisen’s work. The shots come across as so real and everyday but each room is so special and beautiful. Stella’s work was featured here almost a year ago but she has changed  rep agency and that means more lovely photos for us to “ooh” and “aah” over. I love the soft washed out feel of these images. Drowsy, blowsy, cozy and comforting.

Oh my! I have a photographer crush and it’s bad, really bad in the best way. I have seen Andrea Ferrari’s work over the years in all my favourite magazines. Hey in the bad old days way back in the beginning when we used to feature scans from magazines with no credits (we were young so please forgive us) I unwittingly featured more than one or two. I honestly can’t find an image in Andrea’s impressive portfolio that hasn’t made me gasp. All the elements are there. Spectacular lighting, clever composition, an understanding of colour and depth of field and lashings of talent. These are seriously great photos. OK the rooms are drop dead gorgeous, the homes simply stunning but Andrea Ferrari brings them to life, transports us there. Take the time to get lost in an amazing portfolio.

All things calm, all things comforting. Natural elements and so cosy. The first photos are of a charming bed and breakfast… yes please. A stay here would be just the perfect weekend away.
