I keep inspiration files. I think we all do. Here are some more of my favourites from this year. It’s obvious that I have been seduced by neutrals again but I have included some colour…. some.

2010. Can you believe it? 2010. Doesn’t feel any different yet. I’m hoping it will be though. Peace and love and friendship and prosperity. Not much to ask. I’ll start this new year by spreading a little more blog love. Go say hello and spread some goodwill. Life’s too short for pettiness and snark. Smile. We’re all in this together 🙂

Holiday reading guide 2009

Posted on Thu, 31 Dec 2009 by midcenturyjo

Time to put my vintage Santas away and time to venture back into the blogpond. Some of you are still on holidays (I know I am) and some are working “hard” at the office/home (yes I mean you Kim!). I originally intended to cover the Christmas and New Year breaks with my reading guides but, hey, there are just too many blogs out there to be explored. For me it’s early New Year’s Eve and I’m really looking forward to 2010. So excuse me if I don’t settle in with a cup of tea this time. I’m popping the first champagne cork of the evening.

I was trawling through our archives looking for rooms that really ticked all the boxes for me. Kim has been so organised, grouping them by rooms type. I’ve managed to get through January to March and lumped them all together. (You should see Kim’s photo files, all catalogued by room type or colour. Mine are jumbled in ever growing, ever spreading folders.) One thing I did realise is that we post a lot of pictures! The other thing that dawned on me is that I’m looking for other things in a room now. Don’t get me wrong. I still love bold and brash, colourful and glam. Hollywood Regency still makes my hear skip and pure midcentury is perfection but these are some of my favourites, right here, right now. I think I’m mellowing. Buckingham Interiors + Design

Posted on Tue, 29 Dec 2009 by midcenturyjo

The Christmas card elves dropped a little e-card in my inbox on Christmas Eve.  Julia Buckingham Edelmann of Buckingham Interiors + Design was wishing us season’s greetings and let slip the exciting news that she has a new website. Love a new website especially with new work and, of course, I love Julia’s work which she has generously shared with us before (here). Now that the holiday chaos has settled I finally got a chance to check it out. I couldn’t wait till regular posting next week to share. Julia’s work mixes classic with contemporary, elegance with a twist of fun. In fact she really lets her hair down when it comes to her commercial work!
