12 bathrooms for Maryam (maybe 16)

Posted on Thu, 23 Aug 2007 by midcenturyjo

Maryam from My Marrakesh has the mammoth task of fitting out 12, yes 12, bathrooms in her guesthouse currently under construction. She’s asked us for some inspiration and we’ve come up with a few ideas. Key words for bathrooms on the cheap – colour, rendered walls, repurposed vintage furniture, tiles where necessary and unusual wallcoverings (sealed of course).

Alan Tanksley Marie Claire Maison
Michael Luppino Crossan Clarke Carnachan
David Parmiter Michael Smith
Bluelines Steven Gambrel
Pieter Estersohn James Merrell
Barclay Fryery Betsy Burnham

P.S. These were some quick ideas thrown together. Hope you like them Maryam. I’m craving indoor outdoor bathrooms with plunge baths and open air showers. Very spa like and organic. Think Balinese resort but with Moroccan twist. Ahhhh to dream!

You ROCK!!!!! Thank you so much. I just about fell out of my chair looking at all this beauteousness. I swear, if I had one of these larger bathrooms, I would just move into them as my main living quarters. Hmmmm….do you think clients would think it was a little strange to conduct business meetings in the bathroom?

I love the David Parmiter bathroom, it’s grand but cosy at the same time!

Lovely selection Kim and Jo! I think the one from Pieter fits the bill of ‘a moroccan bathroom’ so well!

Wow you have posted some great inspirations for Maryam. I choose the Michael Smith bathroom for my inspirational bathroom posting for Maryam also. Here is the post I did for her:

LOL – I guess Maryam should maybe think about doing the Michael Smith bathroom then, right Patricia?

Thanks Jo for putting this together and using some of my fav pics.

I don’t envy you Maryam. 12 bathrooms!! Love your choices Paricia.

This is driving me nuts – in the 3rd and fourth to last pictures there is a small red and a small blue sort of tea table side table, round. Anyone know what these are called and where to get them?

Judy says:

OH MY GOODNESS – I love the bathroom with all the Sea Creature illustrations. Do you think they are works of Seba? I am in LOVE!
