Robin Bell

“A profound respect and keen observation of the rigorous aesthetics of classical design is evident in all of Ms. Bell’s work, including her contemporary projects. Inherent in her coordination of color, scale and proportion are the influences of the English and Continental designs of the Eighteenth and Nineteenth centuries.” But look at the contemporary twist that Robin Bell’s work has! Her use of pattern is nothing short of breath taking. Although these homes have their roots in tradition there is nothing stuffy or dated about them. Quite the contrary.

Zebra-print walls – what a fun idea…but in the kitchen too? That’s a little much IMHO. And the hat display in the 2nd photo is driving me crazy. Stick ’em in a drawer. I do love the stairs – they are such a great architectural feature.

I really love that zebra print wallpaper…so chic!

I love the zebra-print, but I agree with Kim… it gets a bit overwhelming. I rather like this somewhat spare room in the lower right corner, particularly the combination of the dark brown in the safari trophies and the green of the plants against the simple white walls. -X
