Since jumping on the Eames shell chair bandwagon yesterday, I have these chairs on my mind, so I thought I would do a post dedicated to this classic, versatile beauty. I was surprised to see how many photos featured it in white. BORING. Makes my lemon yellow one seem extra special. 😉
Because I am a chair whore, I decided to buy myself an Eames shell chair in a FABULOUS lemon yellow the other night on eBay. I picked it up after work this afternoon. It is so damn cute, and will be perfect in my home office…that I have yet to decorate.
And while I’m here, I’ve been having problems accessing my hotmail the last couple of days so my apologies if I don’t reply in a timely fashion.
There is an elegant monochromatic and simple yet lush feel to these rooms by Owen Design Associates but just when you think that this soothing neutral palette is their thing ODA surprise with rich colour. Love Alexandra Owen’s clean lines as much as her take on comfortable and tufted. Would kill for those silk drapes and bamboo blinds in the last room featured.
I love the portfolio of architect Barbara Weiss’ London-based firm. Modern spaces without being too modern…all white spaces without being too stark. Perfect in their simplicity and timelessness, with some really great lighting thrown in for a bit of that wow factor.
Suze Yalof Schwartz, Executive Fashion Editor at Large for GLAMOUR had a simple request when she emailed the other day. “Can you do a curtain story? Please :)” How can we resist? I found so many great images that this may be the start of a series of curtain calls. There’s traditional. There’s modern. There’s colourful and neutral and for good luck I’ve included bamboo and roman blinds!
