Hacienda San Angel – part 2

Posted on Wed, 16 Mar 2011 by KiM

As I mentioned in part 1 of this series yesterday, my husband and I spent 3 nights at the magical Hacienda San Angel during our vacation in Puerto Vallarta. Today I’d like to show you some photos I took in the main part of the hacienda, Casa Bursus. The main entryway features a beautiful fountain in a courtyard that is open to the sky. There is an adjacent living room, dining room and kitchen. Jeff and I opted to eat breakfast in this dining room where we could watch the cook prepare our meal and hang out and chat with Carlos – one of the staff whom we became well acquainted with. (Another bonus of this hotel is the very friendly and accommodating staff). A special perk of dining here – I got to enjoy the company of the 9 resident dogs (more to come on that in a future post). 🙂

Absolutely agree with you—EVERYTHING about this place is amazing. What a dream of a get-a-way this is. I stayed close to downtown when I was in Puerto, too, but, ah, hmmm, it was nothing like this! Thank you for taking so many wonderful photographs to share. ;o) ~Sparky

Stunning! What a great place to stay. In addition to the lovely furnishings, the tile work is jaw dropping. Can I ask what kind of camera you use? Your photos are grand. -Sandra

That looks like heaven.

🙂 It was heaven.
Thanks Sandra! I have a Nikon D80. Most of these photos were shot with my Nikkor 18-135mm lens (only somewhat wide angle lens I took with me) and maybe a few with my Nikkor 35 mm. (And some really quick tweaking in Photoshop).

Nuit, it was PERFECT for a belated honeymoon.
Deborah, I have so much love for Mexico (Puerto Vallarta in particular) it would have to be a long, 8 course meal. 🙂

Just beautiful! No wonder you had such a great holiday – wonderful looking place! Your photos are fantastic, too!
