A tale of two houses

Posted on Mon, 13 Feb 2012 by midcenturyjo

Still real estate stalking. It’s an addiction I know. I just a busy body. I like to stick my nose into other people’s homes. Today I have two. Both in Paddington, Sydney. The first a small terrace house rather uncluttered for the photo shoot. (Methinks perhaps professionally styled… nothing wrong with that. It’s all about selling houses.) The second a somewhat larger terrace with a faded, well lived in look. Definitely not professionally styled. Oh the clutter! But secretly it’s the clutter that does it for me. Makes me want to pick up a dust cloth and explore. Love the kitchen and there is a little library room…. oh what a lovely little room. Links here and here while they last.

yes, those bookshelves do it for me- might actually be able to fit all our books in. But what I really love is the second bedroom with those 3 windows with little balconies. Sigh.

Hi, Love the pictures! The bedroom with the small balcony – Love it! Have a great day!

Sandra. says:

Great ideas, the color blue on the doors just inspire me to do the same on my house!!

rooth says:

Oh my word look at all the books – that one is my house for sure

Annie says:

I am seriously loving the new orleans-style balconies with the multitude of doors.. it is very special.

Both houses are super clean though… The second has very highly organized clutter. So I feel like some professionals have been at work in both places!

Andrew says:

The second one with all the books is 35 Bent Street Paddington Sydney. Coming up for auction soon. Would be very nice indeed!

Jaddooleh says:

I have bookshelf envy as well… Id kill to have that library.. 🙂

My goodness, I think I just went pin-crazy with the second home! I LOVE the clutter, looks very home-y and lived in. This makes me a tad depressed I don't have a cool 1.5mil to spend on a place like this 🙁

MissFifi says:

Good Lord both of these homes are stunning. I love the blue doors in the bedroom and those black bird cage looking chairs are fabulous. But the last photo with that eating area makes me swoon!

Bruce Browning says:

You said it Fifi. They're not exactly mansions, but either one of these houses is more than capable of giving any bigger house a run for its money.
