SBCH Architects

Kim may be on a roll with the rustic and the bucolic this week. Me? I seem to be playing the retro riff. Modernist homes with a distinct midcentury vibe. Glass and steel, stone or timber boxes with sleek interiors. Hard surfaces and luxury. Like this Bray’s Island, South Carolina home by Atlanta based SBCH Architects. Sharp sophistication.

WOW. Those 3 words are meant for this design!

wood and concrete …I love. I want my house like this. 😉 wood wood wood concrete concrete concrete !

Greg says:

Awesome! I love everything about this, with the exception of the square protrusion on the front. To my eye, it adds too much bulk to an otherwise light and airy home.

So, so, so gorgeous. Its very hard to judge whether a house works, however, when all you see are the public spaces. Let's face it, those are meant to wow us — in that price range, anyway. I wish we saw more — but the detailing we do get to see is spectacular.
