Monday’s pets on furniture

Posted on Mon, 7 Oct 2013 by KiM

If you’d like to send me photos to include in next week’s “pets on furniture” post, please ensure your photos follow my basic rules: First, the pet must be on a piece of furniture. And said piece of furniture must be clearly visible in the photo, so it takes center stage rather than your pet. Think of it more of a photo of a great piece of furniture that you want to show off…and your pet happens to be sitting on it. And second, if the photo is too dark or unfocused then it may not make the cut. Photos, your name, location and a brief description can be sent to desiretoinspirekim@hotmail.comand PLEASE don’t send closeups of your pet! Thanks!

***** On a very sad note, this evening my husband and I will be saying goodbye to our beloved Cheeks. We’re having a really hard time with this decision but we know it’s for the best – and it’s made even harder as we lost Edgar only 2 months ago. Poor bubba. 🙁

This is Lennox, he thinks he is smaller than he really is and he loves to sleep in this chair!
– Mia (Ottawa, ON)

This is Milo resting on a woven dining room chair
– Genevieve (Ottawa, ON)

Here is our cat Lady Mousquet lounging on the kitchen table I got for free at my mom’s office… and Tesla, a labrador we are fostering for the Mira foundation, who always feels he should be involved in any picture-taking!
– Justine

This is monkey trying to hide away from my felted sculls and hearts felted cushions. Not his normal sleeping position.
– Deon

Austin loves to bask in the sunshine on what is now “his spot of the couch”.
Leslie

This is Moo Moo on our Vintage Z chair that was refinished by my husband. We’re so glad our cats continue to enjoy our furniture before we can get to it! Cats do always seem to find the best spots in the house.
– Lisa & Todd (New Jersey)

This is Mia, my 13 year old doxie that I rescued four years ago, posing on my favorite tufted chair. This was her first time on the chair since she usually can’t reach it due to her short legs. Surprisingly, she stayed perfectly still for the shot!
– K. (California)

Here’s few pictures of our dog Murphy on furniture (he loves to sit on things!).
– Buz & Tanya

Toby on the wicker love seat in the sunroom.
– Ann (Iowa)

Foxy is on the IKEA shelves.. Foxy says : It’s a mess anyway, they wouldn’t notice me here 🙂
– Cana (Istanbul, Turkey)

I’d like to submit this photo of Weenie in her favorite spot, my grandfather’s newly reupholstered club chair with matching ottoman.
Same chair, different cat.
– Melanie

This is our rescue puppy Argo, snoozing on his favourite design Wink armchair by the fire at my in-laws. He also likes cheaper furniture, like the Ikea sofa in the second picture.
– Stefania and Arcangelo (Italian living in Germany)

oh Holland says:

Blessings to your dearest Cheeks, and to you Kim and husband. Saying a prayer for you all.

Bernadette says:

Cherish the memories of Cheeks and Edgar. Your lovely photos should help. I can only hope that they are in a better 'place', playing together and taking naps on the most fabulous furniture. xox

MadonnaofCoogee says:

So sorry to hear about Cheeks and Edgar too, but what lucky cats they were to have had your loving home even for a short time. they are all frolicking somewhere (cat heaven) together, healthy and young again.
And today's pets on furniture are all gorgeous.

ciely says:

RIP sweet Cheeks

As for wierd names…we had a wet spikey haired stray cat in the yard
She looked like an exploded cigar…and kept that name.
"hello, can I make an appointment to spay Cigar"…embarrassing to go to the vet

KiM says:

Thank you all for your kind words re: Cheeks. The vet is due here in about an hour and I keep fighting back tears. Damn I hate having to do this.

skatoprama says:

🙁 that's so sad! I am so sorry for your loss!

Abbie Florence says:

Austin is HILARIOUS!!!

julia says:

I am so sorry Kim and Jeff. I am really going to miss Bubba Cheeks.

priscilla says:

cheeks found a good home with you, you are an angel.

Nora says:

To be able to help a beloved pet on its way when they're in pain and you know it's time is the biggest gift we can give them, as hard as it is to do. Cheeks knew you loved him.
