A home with style and serenity

OH YESSSSSS!!!! This Australian house pushes all the right buttons, and is the ultimate dose of eye candy on a Sunday. It belongs to Simone Haag (design and communications manager at architecture firm Hecker Guthrie) and her husband Rhys. Hecker Guthrie helped them transform this 1960’s rundown 3 bedroom cottage into a home that is simply stunning. Neutral shades including lots of creamy walls and ceilings (I think I prefer this to stark white) and furniture with a midcentury Scandinavian vibe make this a home that whispers ‘serenity now‘. Dream. Home.

So well put together – the muted tones, the lighting, the scandi vibe. Ughh I love it!

Lynne says:

I'm more than a little in love with the floors and the oven!!! Also the layout and the light and the beams and the ambience.
Not so keen on the handbasin though – reminds me a bit of a urinal.

Thanks so much Kim for featuring my place – Desire to Inspire is one of my favourite blogs xx

Hey Simone! Your place is a D R E A M! Really. đŸ™‚ (I was house hunting today and had I walked into a home half as nice as yours I would have passed out)
P.S. I completely disagree with Lynne on the "urinal" sinks – those are favs of mine and I've been dying to come across one on my antiquing hunts.

Stella says:

This does look extremely scandinavian, very swedish – and as a swede, I should know haha. Perfect inspiration for our summer cottage redo I am about to embark upon this summer. Just lovely!

Ombia says:

Amazing home, furniture, dining room, sideboards, beautiful. So crisp.
I would only prefer to have some space nect to the stove to put the things beside, after cooking.

Truly so inspired by this beautiful home & Simone's style in general. I would love to know where the brass wall sculpture is from,if you don't mind? Truly beautiful, serene and incredibly thoughtful. Thanks for sharing!

Hi I love your house. Was just wondering where you purchased the geometric artwork from?
Thanks
