MADE

MADE – an architecture firm based in Brooklyn that we may have blogged in the past but when I do a search in our search bar for “made” you can imagine I may have a hard time finding a previous post. So this may be a repeat but it is worth a second look. Especially this first kitchen. That wood is gorgeous and against a white painted brick wall it is pretty special.

Whoever took those pics was a Rembrandt. The interior work is just this line of OTT, although the marble tub really is over. There's an amazing sense of peace in all the rooms. I'm wondering just how much money you need to get away with using that excitingly distressed industrial table in a baby's room. It's not as if they nibble everything…

I am obsessed with those two turquoise bar stools in Julianne Moore's former kitchen. Must. Find. These. Stools. I have been obsessed for years! Please, please, please — does anyone know who designed or manufactured them?

In keeping with my obsession, I spied the chair version of these stools, in brown leather, in a fall 2011 issue of Canadian House & Home. They were in one of Susur Lee's restaurants (I forget which, and don't know if still exists, or has been transformed into another restaurant). His wife designs the interiors of his restaurants, and so I contacted her. She said she had no idea about who designed them, and had bought them from a vintage furniture place on Queen street.

Sigh. Still no closer.

monika, why don't you email the lovely ladies of Remodelista to see if they know or can contact Julianne? They seem to be buds with her (since she wrote the foreward of their book).

thanks Cliodhna!
