A rustic and modern bathroom

Posted on Mon, 13 Jun 2016 by KiM

Magda of Euro Style Interior Design based in Chicago sent along some photos of a bathroom design she recently completed and it is stunning! Such incredible, warm textures. The scoop: My clients wanted to create a bathroom where they can relax after long work hours. Where they can spend time together and enjoy soaking tub time. This design includes rustic and modern elements mixed together, what brings interest to this bathroom. Focal wall of the bathroom is the definitely free standing tub with beautiful wood tiles behind. Bathroom vanity is custom made and designed in collaboration with the client to accomodate their needs.

Magda says:

Hi Tammy,
A wood tiles are only on the wall behind the tub. The intensions were to create a focal point. Rest of the wall are the same tile as you can see on shower walls.
Thanks for your questions and thank you!

Omar says:

Hi, could you please tell me what tile model you used for the back wall (behind the tub)? I went to floor and decor's website but I can't manage to find them…

Magda says:

Hi Omar,
It is Antique panel wood mosaic, SKU: 100046440. It is located under decoratives on website that why it's hard to find. Thank you!

Hi Magda,
Greetings from Africa!
Love your design/work, but unfortunately I don't live in Chicago…
I have been trying for ages to get a thinly-framed (black) shower screen+door, and have now called a halt to the shower make-over until I find someone to produce one. I am becoming desperate! Do you p'haps have any idea as to how a shower frame is blackened?
Would love to hear from you,
Regards,

Good Evening! I was wondering if you could tell me how the designer was able to seal off the bottom of the tub to prevent water from getting underneath, thus getting down into the slab. My husband and I are currently doing something very similar and the plumber was wondering how to approach the bottom of a free standing tub with it being inside the shower. He thought of sloping the floor of the shower away from the tub so the water doesn't run towards the tub. Any insight would be much appreciated!!!

I found this bathroom and am currently using it to design my own! My question is, with the wood behind the bathtub, did you have to seal it or treat it in any special way? I want this entire look, and my husband is wary of wood in my steamer shower. Any additional info would be great! Also, do you know what shower fixtures and finishes were used? Thank you!
