Nantucket dreaming

Posted on Wed, 24 May 2017 by midcenturyjo

From its dark panelled public areas and quirky maritime touches to its light and breezy bedrooms with layered bed linens from John Robshaw and Les Indiennes, Greydon House on the island of Nantuket off Cape Cod  is the perfect virtual getaway for this hump day Wednesday. I’m fantasizing about strolling through the boutique shops in the morning followed by a long beach walk, warming up by a crackling fire with a drink and a dog eared book before by a fabulous dinner in the restaurant. With interiors by Roman and Williams I don’t think I want to wake up from this lovely daydream.

WOW. I live and work in a resort town in New England and it is SO REFRESHING to see decor like this that is not the typical cliched obvious New England decor. This is positively stunning. A decided moodiness with a side of funk, yet you can still tell it's in the northeast. So well done.

I agree with kim above- refreshing to see non-NE stereotypical decor.
Photo #4- the round basket table- I have that exact same basket as a ceiling light shade! Now I know what to recycle it into if I get tired of it as a shade 🙂

I totally agree with Kim. I'm from New England and go to Nantucket, and this is a breath of fresh air! Instead of typical nautical style or looking like a RL catalog, this feels like an amazing home that has been passed down through the family from a great aunt who loved to go to Asia and Portugal. Well done!!!
