A remodeled 1890’s cottage in Hackney

Comfy and casual, with lots of vintage pieces in this remodeled cottage by London-based interior design firm ALL & NXTHINGThis was a big passion project for us, an old wreck nestled in awesome De Beauvoir, Hackney. We took a tired 1890’s cottage and re designed every inch of it utilising its beautiful original bones and adding to its character. Highlights include the double height bathroom with exposed brick and bateau tub and the extended open plan kitchen with exposed beams, concrete floors, log burner and our bespoke kitchen design incorporating Terrazzo and reclaimed parquet worktops.

Great decor. But I will say their definition of a “cottage” is somewhat more generous than mine.

I love this- the furnishings, the paint, and that bathroom, wow! Personally, I think I would go with a less unsettling piece of art for the bedroom though.

Pretty living space! With plenty of room for the cottage mice to run in and out below that two tone door!

Love this. Amazing size for London. Great decor. Anyone would feel comfortable here. Only complaint is the painting of a guy holding a woman and a gun. Don’t know if I’d want that in my bedroom every night!

Lovely touches and adore the blue/grey paint colours. For some reason it makes me feel cold, as if it would be cold there in the winter although there is a lovely log burner in the lounge. If that is the TV in the white stand, it looks rather low too, but this must be the way the photo was taken I expect. As others have said I find the painting in the bedroom a tad disturbing, and it doesn’t have the overall appearance of a ‘cottage’, more like a warehouse or barn conversion.
