Berdoulat

My heart continues to experience palpitations when I find homes with original centuries-old details and a traditional vibe. The character that oozes from the stone walls and old flooring really makes me crave a home with history. Berdoulat is located in Bath (U.K.) and specialise in period buildings and restoration, and these spaces from their portfolio are about to give me a stroke.

Beth says:

I’m having heart palpitations, too.

Amy Schlecht says:

Now I’m ruined. I’ve been trying to talk myself into simple modern spaces, but this post is really what speaks to me! I will never be able to settle for a lack of soul.

mari says:

where is the mother/child statue from? beautiful..

midcenturyjo says:

It will be a vintage decommissioned religious statue from a church for sure. Most likely a one off from a dealer.

Suzanne Melton says:

Geez, Louise!

Not one thing could be added…or removed.

I wish I could watch the craftsmen working on the chandelier in image four. I wonder what they’d say about their creation lasting into the 21st century.

Melanie D Millar says:

Oh my gosh. I too have been trying to talk myself into clean, modern spaces. And then I see these images and I want to cry. They are SO beautiful.

And part of it for me is the cool wintery northern light. The rooms feel like Dutch paintings of interiors.

TRULY sublime

Rainy says:

Help! I’m locked in the ‘closet’!!!

Michelle says:

I really need to soak in that bathroom whilst soaking in the sublime round bath!
