“Simplicity was at the core of what we wanted to create. Our mantra throughout the design process was always: what is the most simple solution? When we started the project we had the vision to create a living space that would look humble but feel extremely vast and open. We really wanted the volumes and proportions to play with the surrounding nature as this is such an important element of why its owners chose this exact spot.”
Nestled in the dunes, sitting in harmony with its surrounds The Dunes is the epitome of beautiful simplicity and seemingly simple beauty. Can we just acknowledge how perfect that last image is? By Amsterdam-based The Loft.

You knew I wouldn’t be able to stop at just one stunning property for sale via Fantastic Frank. Of course I couldn’t. Not when there is this fabulous apartment in uptown Barcelona available. The floors, the mouldings, those beautiful stripped wooden doors and the master ensuite with a bath with a view. Love it all!
My heart continues to experience palpitations when I find homes with original centuries-old details and a traditional vibe. The character that oozes from the stone walls and old flooring really makes me crave a home with history. Berdoulat is located in Bath (U.K.) and specialise in period buildings and restoration, and these spaces from their portfolio are about to give me a stroke.
Love the cozy, earthy vibes in this home designed by Indiana based designer Whittney Parkinson. And the kitchen is a dream! Traditional architectural details are blended with the contemporary to create a cohesive home for the modern family. WPD blended a neutral foundation with pops of color to enhance the home’s finishes and create depth. Beautiful fabrics mix well with slick metals and warm woods in this eclectic residence.
As I get this post ready it is Saturday night and we’re waiting for our takeout from a restaurant in our neighbourhood – because we are still not able to dine in restaurants here in Ottawa. We try and order in dinner at least once a week to help support these businesses that are really suffering this year. I being able to enjoy a meal in a restaurant, particularly because it was what husband and I would do for the occasional date night. This restaurant in Vienna called Motto is absolutely gorgeous and would be a dream to visit in person. And that outdoor space!!! Designed by Atelier Karasinski.
