Neoclassical in Madrid’s Barrio de las Letras where restraint meets drama. Clever use of white, split levels, mirror and bespoke storage elevate this bijou apartment from tired and pokey to classic with an edge. By Marta Goyanes and Cristina Espejo of Studio Espejo Goyanes
I enjoyed this designed space! Red ceiling beams a bold move
There are some beautiful objects and architectural details, but the furniture placement is so frustrating! That enormous couch is facing a blank wall – it should be rotated to face the kitchen or out the window. Similarly, that beautiful kitchen island should face into the living room, not into a wall.
Is this all just a misguided attempt to make the space fell less long and narrow?
