A sophisticated curation

Posted on Tue, 3 May 2022 by midcenturyjo

“Designed by Joshua Nimmo of Nimmo Architecture with interior design and styling by Joshua Rice Design, the emphasis on natural wood gives warmth to an otherwise all-glass house. Furthermore, an array of carefully-curated objects and vintage furniture pieces sets the tone for this sophisticated contemporary residence.”

A multi-generational home where sustainability is as important as sophistication. Beautifully decorated with a mid century riff the glass and concrete rooms are warmed with wood accents and modern art.

A designer’s lively family home in London

The south London home of designer Octavia Dickinson and her family is full of life. Lots of lively colours, patterns, artwork and antiques make this home bright, invigorating and casually comfortable. (Photos: Paul Massey & Harry Crowder)

A Brooklyn loft by Pappas Miron

Absolutely in love with the attention to detail, textures and the beautiful moody tones in this Brooklyn loft designed by Pappas Miron. It’s incredible how much warmth can be created with some grasscloth wallpaper, thick curtains and dark colours. (Photos: Stephen Kent Johnson, Styling: Colin King)

This 13th century castle is an intrinsic part of the Puy-de-Dôme department and has a rich past closely linked to the royal history of France. Restoration works began in the 1990’s and are still ongoing. A superb example of heritage restoration supervised by a master architect specialised in French Historic Buildings, an architecture historian and a host of landscape gardeners. The current owners have poured all their energy into breathing new life into the property and its activities, modernising it without changing its architecture. Its natural setting, the building itself, its large function rooms and reception areas, its landscaped vistas, the gardens and the still-water pool, as well as its secret passageway through the dry moat are all assets and delights just waiting to be explored.
An absolutely breathtaking property, with sooo much history and love poured into it over the years. For sale, and more info via Patrick Besse.
