Colette van den Thillart designed this pied-à-terre in Toronto with lots of whimsy, plenty of sophistication and a healthy dose of “global”. So fabulously unique and the perfect mix of light, dark and colourful. (Photos: Alex Lukey)

Perfect!

I have never been an adherent of the decorating rule, “each room’s color must guide you into the next room.”

Yikes!
I will just make one comment: I can’t get my head around the biomorphic spin-art rug in entry hall. It is so disorienting. Makes it hard to “read” the space.
Besides that, a home that lacks any kind of coherence from room to room is also disorienting. I need more of a narrative…
