Lots of different shades of blue but done in a restrained way by Notting Hill based design firm Barlow & Barlow. This 1700 sq ft home is inviting and along with the pretty colours of blue (and a bit of green and pink) the patterns add whimsy. And the kitchen is a dream, complete with banquette dining area and windowed pantry!
A warm wind stirs, the cicadas sing, the sun moves lazily across the rooms. Shadow and light, natural materials and a sense of a long, languid presence. We’re in Sydney but it’s the Mediterranean we dreaming of. A casual unaffected elegance. Wilkinson Villa by Handelsmann & Khaw.

Nina Farmer‘s design philosophy is rooted in a classical sensibility with a mixture of furniture and accessories from different periods. It says so on her website. This Westport house mixes that classical sensibility with mid-century chops and just a touch of rock star glam. The result is unexpected, elegant, inviting and timeless.
Magnificent 19th century castle located in the heart of the charming village of Habas, close to all amenities and 45 minutes from the beaches of Hossegor or Biarritz. It develops its 1050sq.m of living space (15 rooms, 15 bedrooms) on 3 levels with charm and elegance. It is surrounded by a classified park of nearly one hectare, and benefits from outbuildings for an area of approximately 1250 sq.m including a garage space that can accommodate 6 vehicles. A swimming pool and a basin complete this exceptional property.
I’m pretty much sold on the exterior alone, and if you can see past the awful colours and bland furnishings this place has some really pretty architectural features. For sale via Sotheby’s.
It’s like I say week in week out. If you have to drag yourself into work on a weekend it helps if it’s somewhere stylish. The Gallery by Laura Gonzalez.
