Heidi Caillier never disappoints and is eager to embrace the history of a home and leave things like beautiful dark millwork untouched. And this is why I am her biggest fan. Along with her signature addition of slightly muted but always punchy colours and patterns strewn throughout this home gives off the coziest, effortlessly stylish, a wee bit European and timeless vibes. Retrolicious

A strong, masculine scheme to match the bones of this fabulous 70s home. Brown reigns supreme as does the layering of textures and natural materials. It’s about monumental stone, soaring ceilings of timber, reflections off polished concrete floors and grass paper walls that beg you to stroke them. Retrolicious furniture completes the picture. Nine-Square Bondi

“Tasked with creating an urban oasis on a small block in a densely populated area, connecting to the street and community while maintaining privacy for the residents was key. Nine-Square Bondi is a reflection of the client’s global and creative mindset, incorporating influences of time spent living in Hong Kong, their eclectic collection of art and love of Brazilian Brutalist houses. The core concept was to draw on their individuality but also to embrace and reflect the unique character of the Bondi Beach locality: casual, communal, colourful, imperfect and unadorned.”

White Pine House

This deep and deliciously renovated home was transformed from modern farmhouse to something more timeless (and darker colours yessssss) and required the reuse of some pretty sweet existing pieces the owner already had. I adore how moody and not-so-trendy this home is, and I’m feeling the sort of old world gentlemen’s club elements. Anything beats modern farmhouse, amiright? Bennison Fabrics

I found these spaces on the Bennison Fabrics website and fell in love with the beautiful patterns. I am clearly a pattern girl, and a bit rare among these parts. A Canada Post mailperson just showed up at my door and I had to sign for the package so I opened the door and she saw inside my vestibule (covered in Farrow & Ball wallpaper) and says “Oh – what lovely wallpaper! You don’t see wallpaper very often” 🙂
