In the heart of Park Slope, Lyons Studio redesigned a historic brownstone, balancing tradition with modernity. The updated layout enhances flow and function, while bespoke millwork and layered materials bring depth and warmth. Classic detailing is carefully interpreted through a contemporary lens, preserving the home’s heritage while accommodating modern living, an expression of Lyons Studio’s refined, practical and joyfully sophisticated design approach.

Set on a prime harborfront site, this 1990s Nantucket residence has been reimagined by Workshop/APD as a forever home. The design unifies its original gabled form with a refined, contemporary sensibility, anchored by a sculptural staircase in textured plaster and dark-stained wood. Reclaimed timber, wire-brushed oak, striated stone and steel paneling lend depth and tactility. True to the Workshop/APD aesthetic the home embodies an artful, unmistakable expression of modern Nantucket living.

According to a House Beautiful feature on this Toronto home, designer Ali Budd was given carte blanche on decorating the main floor and second-floor primary suite but the homeowners insisted she include a bubble gum-pink range they had purchased. And shades of pink became a reoccurring feature in most of the spaces – a saturated mauve-drenched living room, a powder room with a pink quartzite-clad vanity, a butler’s pantry in Gucci pink floral wallpaper, a blush tone rug in the primary suite….
