Grounded

Founded in 2016, Oliver Du Puy’s practice is driven by a love of thoughtful, enduring design that feels quietly refined. Loft Residence is a reimagining of an early-1900s warehouse in Sydney’s lively Surry Hills, transformed through a holistic blend of architecture, interiors and art. The design pares life back to the essentials, creating a calm dialogue between nature and form. Minimal yet warm, the space feels grounded and meditative.

Jack says:

Nice pieces of furniture that unfortunately do not blend with each other and seem disconnected with nowhere for the eye to settle. I think the title “Grounded” is the opposite of how this space feels.

Henk says:

I think it’ ugly… A living space that feels seems devoid of personality and warmth. It would be like living in a very large isolation chamber…

Sheri says:

I can see how this would be great as a pop up gallery or event space for an art dealer or something. But strictly as a home? No thank you.

Show-offy, cold, and uninviting, despite the warm tones. Aside from the couch all of the furniture looks uncomfortable and the pieces are so far apart from each other, you’d feel like you were at some weird job interview all the time.
