If you’d like to send me photos to include in next week’s “pets on furniture” post, please ensure your photos follow my basic rules: First, the pet must be on a piece of furniture. And said piece of furniture must be clearly visible in the photo, so it takes center stage rather than your pet. Think of it more of a photo of a great piece of furniture that you want to show off…and your pet happens to be sitting on it. And second, the photo must be of decent quality. If it’s dark or fuzzy (from a camera phone) then it may not make the cut. Thanks! (Photos, your name, location and a brief description can be sent to desiretoinspirekim@hotmail.comand PLEASE don’t send closeups of your pet!)
I work as a interior designer in Stockholm. I saw that you are looking for photos of pets on furniture and I thought of my beautiful Pharaoh Hound “Cleo”. She is only 4 months old at the picture and the photographer and I spent many hours and a lot of meatballs trying to get a good shot… But finally we made it! The bedroom on the picture is designed by me and my Stockholm based interior design company Stargo.

My cat, Princess Jasmine, perched on my antique dresser. She showed up at my door almost 6 years ago and has entertained me ever since. The dresser was passed down to me from my Mom’s side of the family and I’ve had it since I was a little girl.

I’m thrilled to introduce the little light of my life…Rubee the Puginese! She is a pug-pekingese cross and absolutely adorable.

Pierre P. is a 1 year old King Charles Cavalier Spaniel who is still growing into his fur! There are no shortage of picture opportunities with this little guy…
– Michel (Toronto, ON)

This is Tango, who unlike most cats likes to be in the picture, even if that means being on the dining room table! I was setting up my camera to create a still life of the tulips and cedar bowl

My best friends son Henry just sent these pics of two of their dogs lounging around on a lazy Sunday.

Here is a picture of my cat “maxou” on my sideboard.

Otis to the left, Omar to the right…..this is their chair….They are my two little hams, and we have some cool furniture as well.

This is my dog Ziggi in my living room. He’s on a chair he’s not normally allowed on and I think he knows it!

I wanted to share my coonhound mix, Lloyd, with you. Lloyd finds it very easy to make himself comfortable on any piece of furniture in our home. Here are a few shots of him showing you around… Listening to my husband, Patrick, playing guitar off in the music room. Waiting in the bedroom as I get ready. And, of course, lounging on the couch next to a pillow with a striking resemblance. This lazy hound doesn’t ask for much, just a nice spot to take a load off.

This is our Boston Terrier Hubert, sitting on a newly refurbished mid-century chair. We bought the frames on craigslist then sanded and stained the chairs. The cushions were custom made with Maharam upholstery.

This leather chaise sits in the corner of my office, but Baxter long ago claimed it as his own

My cats’ name is Bruno, it’s a Burmese and he is 1 year and a half. He loves to chill out on that cow leather chair. I bought this chair in a vintage store on Ste-Catherine Street in Montreal which is unfortunately closed today.

Here are two photos of Mimi, also known as Mimoso, on one of his favorite pieces of furniture. He knows he isn’t allowed to be there, but he definitely doesn’t care about it.

This is mr. Henry tuck. I adopted him from a shelter in nyc. He often plops down right in the middle of my bed (west elm duvet cover).

While I can’t quite afford a top-notch designer sofa, I do rescue the nice pieces of furniture my mother gets tired of. The fabric on this sofa is my favorite of all them from over the last 30 years. Our basset hound and two rescue kitties seem to appreciate it as well, though I’m not sure if it’s the fabric’s pattern or the feather stuffing in the cushions they like best. From top to bottom on the living room couch are Maggie, Ellie, and Martha, all rescued in one way or another.

We received an email and photos from Ria about Barcelona Atlanta – a new Spanish tapas and wine bar in the Atlanta neighborhood of Inman Park and was just named as one of the best bars in America in Travel & Leisure Magazine. Ria’s boss, Sasa Mahr Batuz, is the Creative Director and unlike other restaurants, he’s involved in every process of designing the restaurants (there are several, located throughout Connecticut from the greater New York region to West Hartford and New Haven). The decor is out of this world – I love absolutely every inch. I would not even care what the food tasted like (as long as they had a decent red wine anyway).

I have been a big fan of Montreal-based Nicola Marc‘s styling for years, since I first started religiously reading shelter magazines. She has worked for all of my favourite magazines (all of which I have/had subscriptions for) like Canadian Home & Country, Canadian House & Home, Style At Home, Chocolat etc. Needless to say her portfolio is filled with gorgeously styled spaces that are without a doubt magazine worthy.
