Sabrina’s Etsy store

Just wanted to give a quick mention of a fabulous new Etsy store. Sabrina, who works with my twin sister, makes beautiful jewelry and finally opened Abacus Creations. There are a few pieces I’ve got my eye on, as do some of my coworkers…

Wish

I was checking out magazines at the drugstore the other day and came across Wish. It’s a Canadian magazine that’s got everything: beauty, fashion, food and decor. I bought it because it featured the home of Suzanne Dimma, the home design director and new editor of Canadian House & Home. Her home rocks, but unfortunately there are no photos on the website of it, at least yet. But here are some others I found.

B Five Studio

I am smitten with the portfolio of New York and Philadelphia based architecture and interior design studio B Five. Seriously smitten. I love the unpretentious spaces they create and there is something yummy in each of the photos. Glossy white painted floors, bright artwork, fun light fixtures, expansive windows, tiled fireplaces…and OMG that blue floor!!

Jamie Drake does it again

It’s been quite a while since we’ve posted about Jamie Drake’s firm. When I came across this gorgeous apartment filled with their signature bold colour palette, I was in awe, again. GORG!!! With these colours, you can’t help but smile.

“The designs for our Manhattan House apartment aspire to replicate the cool, unapproachable beauty of style icon Grace Kelly. Pale icy green frosts the foyer, living and dining rooms with a piquant Kelly green accent panel in the foyer. Refined, couture details such as the ruched trim on the shapely sofa reflect the impeccable manner in which she was always dressed.”

ducduc @2Modern

I was just perusing 2Modern’s site and came across a company that was unfamiliar to me, called ducduc. Am I ever glad I discovered them! They have the most fabulous modern furniture, mostly for kids and babies. Any soon-to-be parent (or anyone as they also carry some adult furniture) with a modern aesthetic needs to go have look. And they have so many colour options and fabric options like Marimekko and Knoll.

“ducduc is a collaborative design house based in new york city, designing lifestyle furniture utilizing four core principles: quality, environment, community, and design. All ducduc pieces are hand-made by expert craftsmen. Their hardwoods come from local, sustainably managed forests in New England and they use only non-toxic, pollutant free finishes. They own their factory in Connecticut, assuring that everything is made-here, and allowing ducduc to minimize both their waste and carbon emissions. All ducduc pieces are timeless and versatile, letting you express your own creativity and style throughout your home and into your child’s rooms.”
