Because I can’t get enough, the drama of Sarah Vaile continues with this random selection from her portfolio. Her unusual paint colours, wallpapers and graphic textiles really elevates these spaces and are so invigorating.

A newly built home can be daunting to decorate – that blank slate of white and very neutral finishings. That didn’t stop designer Sarah Vaile from throwing caution to the wind in this Chicago home and painting out several spaces black and using wallpaper and a gorgeous medium dark cyan. Keeping the sleeping and bath spaces white creates a more relaxing vibe and differentiates that zone.

Finding this home featured on The Socialite Family made me realize that if I ever purchase a mid-century home this is how I would want to decorate it. Neutral, earthy modernism. Fabulous.

Over all these years her style has been consistent – always rooted in contemporary with classic touches, always in a palette of whites and creams with significant use of black and wood tones. Her spaces stand the test of time.

Michelle Kelly is at it again with her penchant for colour and pattern. She has modernized this classic Victorian terrace home and made it family friendly and cozy. The hand-brushed brass kitchen cabinets are fabulous!!!
