This impeccably curated loft in Willamsburg, Brooklyn, belongs to interior designer Leyden Lewis. The 800 sq ft space is filled with books and art, creating lots of drama and gives the impression that it’s like a mini art gallery/museum/library. I adore this.

Architect Anna Stella Tinelli and interior designer Claudio De Leo of Pleroo Design Studio created a beautiful space here for Claudio and his family, modernizing this 120 sq m apartment in Gioia del Colle, a town in southern Italy (the building was built in the late 1960’s). Many materials were used such as oak flooring, cane chairs, metal and mesh room dividers, travertine, grasscloth wallpaper, which adds alot of interest to what is quite simple architecture.

I wanted to share another very intriguing project by Studio Sven. In this case it’s quite a traditional style home that is given quite unexpected lashings of jewel-toned colours. At first I was a bit taken aback but the more I devoured these photos the more I like what I see (I’m still uncertain about that blue ceiling – not a fan of blue). It’s an inexpensive and very impactful way of modernizing a home.

Lauren Svenstrup of Chicago design firm Studio Sven transformed a bland yellow/orange/brown home (see before photos here – really worth a gander) into something much more dynamic, sexy and inviting. And the drama begins the second you walk in the door. BAM!

A bit of vintage country is what you’ll find in the Notting Hill home of creative consultant and designer Matilda Goad. Quite feminine and very pretty with a backdrop of pale pink on the walls. Easy on the eyes and extremely relaxed and liveable. Photos by Owen Gale via House & Garden.
