I think if you live up in the clouds your home should be as striking as your surroundings. PROjECT did just that here in this Chicago condo. Our clients built a business empire and craved a sophisticated retreat to play, meditate, entertain, relax, and let it all melt away. A chic exaltation of refined and rebellious: Oaxacan pottery, paintings by Picasso + Warhol, lighting fashioned from bike chains, a lounge that doubles as a playground; a yoga studio with a floating lucite daybed cloistered by walnut slab doors; there’s winding corridors with pots of decorative gold at the end of every rainbow. It’s 4,000 square feet of architectural prowess, like Dr. X with design chops.

I have been a huge fan of designers Pierre Emmanuel Martin and Stéphane Garotin of Maison Hand for many years. Everything they touch is magic. Whether light or dark or a mix of both, their projects are always fabulous. Their latest 75 m2 apartment in Lyon, France that they renovated is rough around the edges with lots of black and dark earthy tones and might be my favourite of all. I am intrigued by the wacky layout of the kitchen.

And some from me. Felix on the sofa, Lucky on a chair I was taking to Highjinx for them to sell, Mimin and Milo getting ready to nap on the sofa, and Bernie + Frankie + Felix sunning themselves in the living room.

A big shoutout to all the healthcare workers out there who continue to show up to work and risk their lives during this pandemic. I read an article the other day about a nurse who would get in her car and cry from fear each day before heading to work. I cannot imagine. I worry about my cousin Cristina who is a newly graduated paramedic in Toronto. These people can’t hide in their homes like the rest of us. Donna is a healthcare provider and sent us a link to the obstetrics and gynecology office in Nashville, TN where she works. Designed by Pencil & Paper Co., “it gives us a serene environment for some of life’s stressful moments“. Thank you Donna. XOXO (And I must wish my dear blog partner Jo a happy birthday!!! a virtual XOXO to you too!)

Again, Peter Dunham has layered the crap out of this Central Park West apartment and I absolutely adore this. There is alot going on but it’s JUST RIGHT.
