Classic and timeless, elegant and sophisticated, neutral and serene. A delicious sampling from several projects by interior designer Amy Meier.

If your idea of summer fun is hanging out, mixing drinks and chilling out by a firepit, then this backyard space is for you. Another really well executed design by the very talented Fig Landscapes. You’ll be the cool kid in the neighbourhood with a space like this.

My sister came across the website of Fig Landscapes (a landscape design and construction company based in Byron Bay and Sydney) recently and sent it along to me because she thought it would be inspirational for the huge landscaping project my husband and I have begun on our property. She was right! In our backyard I wanted to do a crushed stone path leading to a BBQ pad, a raised vegetable garden and a gazebo, with plants growing along its edge. This Woolooware project has done exactly that and it’s beautiful, along with the rest of the space – especially love the fire area.

If you would like to participate in the Monday’s pets on furniture series please send photos, your name, location and a brief description to kim[at]desiretoinspire[dot]net, or hashtag your photos on Instagram with #DTIpetsonfurniture. Thanks!
My sister sent me a rare photo with all 3 of her cats in it. Zoe, Spencer and Carl chilling in her living room.

Some from me. Mimin sitting on the bills I needed to pay. Semi-feral Bernie watching for birds in the dining room window. Semi-feral Frankie sunning himself on my desk.

A Sunday dose of eclecticism for your viewing pleasure, care of one of my favourite sources for awesomeness, Shoot Factory. This Georgian country home in Norfolk, England consists of 22 acres, 6 bedrooms, several original fireplaces, and a serious case of the 60’s/70’s with some funky furnishings and wallpaper. Such a beautiful and fun home.
