Should we run away? Should we pretend? Should we dream of a shed at the end of the garden? Forget our cares and woes? Should we? Could we? With the help of stylist Louise Rastall we just might. Dreamy days filled with soft muted colours, bright, fresh houses, gardens and picnics. Lovely.

Stalking behind the high grey fence

Posted on Tue, 30 Oct 2012 by midcenturyjo

What’s behind the fence? Give me a leg up. I need to see. I am such a stalker, a real estate gawker. Concrete, timber, marble, glass. hard planes softened by kilims and kanthas, carpets and cane. A modern family home that wants to be minimalist but I see the owners want just a few more layers. Real estate stalking in Caulfield, Melbourne. Link here while it lasts.

Hello lover

Wrap my in your blue embrace and whisper sweet design songs in my ear. I could live with you forever and ever. My one and only room… until I fall for another. I may be fickle but I know what I love. Just one view of antique dealer Florence Lopez‘ Parisian studio. A tease, a taste. More here.

Like a rock

Solid as a rock. Anchored to the dunes. Protection against wind and spray, sun and seasons. A stylish shelter from the elements. More from Martín Gómez Arquitectos. Stone and concrete, timber and glass. An imposing facade hides an intimate family home. Punta del Este in Uruguay must be a beautiful place to live.

Stalking bottlebrush in the backyard

From its red front door to the beautiful red fluff of the bottlebrush trees in the courtyard this North Fitzroy, Melbourne single storey terrace brings a smile to  my face. Love the dining room, the alfresco eating in the side courtyard and the small sitting room next to the kitchen hub. One last thing. Would the gardening gods please give me that espaliered “whatever” tree it is. I have a spot next to my garden shed that would be perfect for it. Real estate stalking…. again.
