Reader’s home

Heide Lender lives in a fabulous San Francisco pad.  Love the white walls and wooden floors, the architectural features, the light… love the light. I’d kill for her Beni Ouarain rugs and are they Togo sofas I spy? Great kitchen, tolix chairs in the dining room, fab bathrooms and a wonderful space to use as an office. Heidi you have it all! Sadly though Heidi is moving on from her rad pad and wanted us to all die from jealousy, sorry I meant that she wanted to share her remodeled home, before she started to pack it all up. Heidi if I was in SF I’d move in in a heart beat.

Andy Liffner

Love all things Swedish interior design? Can’t make up your mind if you are a white wall and floor sort of gal/guy? Maybe Gustavian? Classic Scandinavian midcentury modern? Out and out retro brick and knotty pine? Any or all of these and you’ll love the portfolio of Stockholm based photographer Andy Liffner. The whites are right, the colours pop. The light is bright and the wood is golden. A veritable smörgåsbord from the super talented snapper. Is there something wrong with me that I’m strangely drawn to a blonde brick and knotty pine 70s time capsule? Must be the power of Andy’s shots 😉

Louise Bickle

Love the saturated colour. Love the faded elegance. Love the portfolio of stylist Louise Bickle. Actually more than stylist… design + styling + production + events. Cosy rumpled afternoons. Tea and flowers, dogs and daybeds, life in a slower lane. She makes you dream doesn’t she?

… was a dusty volume long forgotten. A treasure trove of retro storage, a book that could just prove that everything old is new again. As I flicked from page to page I was confused. Hadn’t I seen these rooms in a recent Inside Out or Elle Decoration? I love finding a long lost book especially when it is Storage, A House and Garden Book, Melinda Davis, Pantheon Books, New York, 1978. Dreaming of moving in to any of these rooms.

WINKS

… my next project

WINKS – weekend links. Here we list what has come in during the week, things we’ve found and things we think you’ll want to see. If you’d like to see your blog or website featured email us and if we think it fits with our readers we’ll link you. So what’s in this week?

  • Wire art installation at the Bay, Toronto. Botanicals and butterflies break from their wire whirlwind and bring a smile with their whimsy and wonder. Imagine these floating across your ceiling. Beautiful work from Toronto interior designer and artist Teresa Leung.

  • Weaving a magic of a different kind with a different material is Australian Darcy Clarke. Fluid shapes and scattering light and shadow. Earthy, tactile pieces that delight the eye with their organic shapes. Rough meets smooth, handmade meets modern design, old meets new. I need some of these in my life.

  • Photographer Anna Williams has shot for Martha Stewart Living, Real Simple, O Magazine. Her portfolio is full of inspiring interiors, luscious food, exotic destinations and beautiful people. (See our post on Anna here.) But Anna takes her work further in an ongoing essay exploring hunger, consumption and beauty. These stunning images are just a taste of what awaits you at the latest issue of The Voracity – A Princely Feast.

  • Tactile and sexy. Sleek and curvaceous. Sculptural furniture by Robert Austin Gonzalez, part of the Grace collection. I just want to polish these beautiful pieces over and over. Sensual, dare I say erotic? Love.
