“The brief was to breath new life into an un-renovated 42sqm one bedroom apartment from the 1930s to provide sufficient relax, play and work spaces for a young professional couple.”
At 42sqm the footprint is small but clever storage solutions and design means that the living is large. The Hacienda by Adriano Pupilli Architect.

Amsterdam-based design firm concrete has created a new brand concept in hotel rooms, Zoku, a live-work-socialize hybrid for long stay professionals. Great design not just for hotels but jam packed with cool ideas for any small space living.
The historic sandstone cottage in Sydney’s Balmain had undergone many changes to its fabric over the years. Let’s just say that they weren’t all sympathetic. Carter Williamson Architects‘ renovation has seen the exterior revitalised while the interior has been renewed whilst respecting the narrative of the old home. Walls slide and disappear, old and new are juxtaposed and the choice of materials lets the richness of the original cottage walls become the decoration in this modest, yet spacious and flexible home.
