A contemporary take on a traditional kitchen with butterfly blue and hidden wood grain touches. Loads of natural light reflecting off white surfaces and then that flash of blue. Another lovely space to cook and connect with family and friends by Blakes London.

Stalking leftovers

Posted on Sat, 4 Oct 2014 by midcenturyjo

Wedding season is in full swing here in Australia and seeing that my new career incarnation involves catering and events then guess what I’ll be doing this afternoon and into the evening? Working. Still hasn’t stopped me stalking this week. Here are the leftovers. The ones that didn’t make the cut. Call me particular, finicky, choosy and hard to please. Not quite right, bad photos, I need more photos please, house is amazing furniture is deplorable or even fab furniture shabby shell. Can’t quite put my finger on it listings with something that has me nodding “yes”. This week’s finds include an old rectory with a stunning garden, a classic example of the Sydney School style of architecture and a converted dairy in inner city Melbourne. If Blairgowrie was my beach house (see my previous post) then this Fitzroy North, Melbourne house would be my city crash pad. Love it and love real estate stalking. Link here while it lasts.

Beach stalking

Posted on Thu, 2 Oct 2014 by midcenturyjo

Just a few sandy steps from the beach is a rambling old beach house settled between the trees and it’s my idea of heaven. I’m stalking in Blairgowrie on the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria. If I was actually there on a house inspection would I ever want to go home. Sorry. Staying. Stylish, casual, lived in and loved. Nothing too precious except for the memories of good times spent with family and friends. Link here while it lasts. (Thanks for stalking on your lunch hour for me Andrea!)
