It’s that time of the week. The ones that made the cut but then didn’t because I hummed and hawed and changed my mind. My stalking leftovers. Why? I’m very fussy. Call me particular, finicky, choosy and hard to please. Not quite right, bad photos, I need more photos please, house is amazing furniture is deplorable or no furniture at all! Can’t quite put my finger on it listings with something that has me nodding “yes”. This week I’m fixating on little kitchens and bathrooms including a new meaning to “the bath is just off the landing”. There’s a church conversion too and a couple of cottages in the country. Serene and sophisticated. A timeless marriage of the contemporary and the traditional. Light, dark. Urban and ethnic. Relaxed and refined. I’m drawn into the creative web of interior designer Gillian Khaw. Imagine this first house as a weekend getaway. I’d never leave.
Aloha Friday. Is that you I see peeping up on the horizon? That means the weekend isn’t fair away. In the meantime lets jump into photographer crush Graham Atkins-Hughes‘ portfolio and wallow in some of my fav images. Dark and dramatic, always guaranteed to bring a smile to my face.
A confection of classic 19th century era decor, Asian influences, cutting edge contemporary, colour and pattern and a clutter of mementoes. It could be the recipe for a frou frou disaster. Instead it is the inspiring and beautiful home of interior designer Suzy Vissers-Hunt (Suzy Hunt) and her husband, co-founder of Moooi, Casper Vissers in the Dutch city of Breda.
I’m still trying to escape the mid week blues. This time I’m off to Drift House in Port Fairy Victoria. Unique, individual, bespoke. The choice of four apartments contained within the original 19th century building and its very modern addition. Design by award winning architectural firm Multiplicity.
