Doherty Lynch now Doherty and Lynch

Two beautiful homes today from Australian design duo Doherty Lynch. Sadly no more. Excitingly now two interior design firms Doherty Design Studio and Fiona Lynch. Does this mean double the design output? I certainly hope so. Theirs is the epitome of the clean, modern Australian design ethos.

Square peg in a round hole

We live in squarespaces. Walls at right angles, furniture parallel. Perhaps the square becomes a rectangle but what if you live in a round space? What if you want to be a square peg in a round hole? Clever space delineation by Russell & George. Ceiling grids define the rooms and provide colour in a minimalist black and white palette.

There may be light at the end of my bathroom renovation tunnel. The funds are gathered and a builder might just have been found. No firm plans drawn up but we have a builder! Is that putting the horse before the cart? And I have more inspiration pictures. Maybe that’s why no firm plans.

All with a tradition vibe. Then I get the urge to break out with something more modern, with colour, with tile.

The wish list is still growing. Heated towel rails, a free standing tub probably a claw foot (wasn’t this supposed to be a shower room originally?), Kelvin wants waterfall taps and I want a wall of storage. No wonder the plans keep changing 😉

Stalking leftovers

Busy day. In a rush. You know the story. I’m fussy. You like to look anyway 🙂 Not quite right, bad photos, I need more photos please, house is amazing furniture is deplorable or no furniture at all! Can’t quite put my finger on it listings with something that has me nodding “yes”. This week’s leftovers include a penthouse apartment with a fab Sydney harbour view, a cute little art deco flat, a spiral staircase that is a work of art and speaking of art let’s dance.
