Dobrodošli u Prugu

All the hard work is done. The doors are open. Guests are arriving. Welcome to Pruga, two acres of peace and quiet and bed and breakfast. After many years in the UK, Andrijana and Vanja returned to Croatia, to the idyllic countryside of Istria, to just outside the tiny village of Lovrinići. Blood, sweat and tears and finally they created a beautiful stone building containing two apartments for guests, a lovely pool for hot summer days and all the tranquility one could want. Oh and the bars and restaurants that abound in this part of Croatia. More on their website and you can follow their progress on their blog.

Because I’m blown away by photographer Giorgio Possenti‘s portfolio.

Giorgio Possenti

I am often asked whether I get bored with the images and spaces that cross my path everyday. The answer is no. There is always something, someone that makes me stop, take measure and smile. Yes. That is beautiful. Like the soft, silvery light that plays across the portfolio of Italian photographer Giorgio Possenti, the geometry of the modern and minimalist spaces he photographs repeated in his images or the way he uses focus to heighten the audience’s anticipation.

Light, bright, white

Those three words are synonymous with one style. Scandi style. I’m stalking a lovely light home in Skåne region of Sweden. The house is from the late 1800s, lovingly brought into the present. Simple and stylish. A pretty home set amongst pear trees behind white garden walls. What do I love most? It must be heaven to sit under pear blossom. Heaven. But when I tire of that there are always those amazing grey Douglas fir floors. More here.
