Simple yet elegant and classic. Such a beautiful apartment designed by Moore House Design. Light, airy, and sophisticated, this apartment renovation has a certain European je ne sais quoi. Part of a regal 1900’s Newport home that was converted into apartments in the late 20th century, this project was a full-scale design and renovation. Playing up its Victorian roots, our team worked to restore the home’s original character and added touches of eclectic Parisian charm. Custom features include full applied paneling throughout, floor to ceiling custom built ins, custom light fixtures, a custom mirror, built-in desk nooks, a kitchen update, a full bathroom renovation, and a built-in banquette dining and lounging nook. A restrained colour palette, refined aesthetic and attention to detail means the rooms in this Cheviot Hills by L.A.-based Studio Life/Style are not only beautifully curated they express a timeless luxury, both cosy and sophisticated.

“Our Beach House at Mermaid represents a refined beach house design with a bold expression of form and materials. From the west orientated urban streetscape the façade responds to privacy and solar concerns by way of sliding timber screens set within white vertical walls and horizontal concrete floor and roof elements in a two storey form. The two storey form boldly cantilevers towards the street over feature stone walls and glass entry. Dense landscaping softens the built form and provides a unique arrival experience. Externally and internally the material palette is a composition of natural materials and textures including stone, concrete and timber set against white surfaces. Internally high ceiling and voids capturing light creates a variety of unique spaces.”
