Belén Ferrándiz blends modern and traditional elements to create timeless, elegant and functional interiors. In this project—a restored home in a small town in Spain’s Santander Valley—she preserved original features like stone, shutters and ceiling details, painted white to enhance light. With open spaces, soft tones and a mix of antique and contemporary furnishings, the result is a serene, cozy retreat designed for relaxation and rural charm.

Have you ever seen someone tile a border above wainscotting in a hallway, that happens to be carpeted in leopard print? Me either! I’m telling you, these Parisian designers are just oozing with wild and creative ideas. I love every single bit of this apartment. The stripped (?) walls in the living room, that hallway situation, putting a cafe rod curtain in front of what looks like a MCM cabinet, and that retro green and pink bathroom! SWOONING!!!! Chroma is a San Francisco-based interior design studio and arts consultancy known for its client-focused, experimental approach and refined, subversive style. In Wild Pearl, a family retreat, Chroma creates a vibrant, expressive home alive with bold colors, rich textures and artistic layers. Blending vintage finds, contemporary pieces and custom designs, the space pulses with creative energy, where avant-garde influences meet warmth, authenticity and a joyful, intricately crafted atmosphere.

A bayside Federation home in Melbourne has been beautifully transformed by interior designer Samantha Eisen. The original red brick facade now wears an aged European-style render, while a rear extension opens onto the garden through a wall of glass framed in soft blue, echoing the warmth of the marble fireplace inside. The old porch has given way to a new kitchen and living area, with arched doors leading to the laundry and scullery. Throughout the home, thoughtful design breathes new life into vintage furniture, while custom touches like an aubergine bathtub and a mosaic-tiled loggia add rich character and charm.

A House to Gather, by Melbourne-based architectural firm Sibling, is a warm and efficient extension designed for a young couple known for their generous hospitality. Built on a modest site and budget, the project transforms a narrow workers cottage into a vibrant space for hosting 2 to 30 guests. The design prioritizes natural light, open space, and connection to the outdoors. With colourful joinery, custom tiles, skylights, and clever spatial planning, the home reflects the couple’s joyful spirit and love of sharing meals.
