“Complete refurbishment of a generously proportioned Victorian family home in East London. Set over 5 floors, the mix of architectural styles is reflected in the interiors with a light, rustic contemporary approach in the lower ground floor and contrasting rich dark Victorian splendour on the upper floors.”
Old and new, Victorian and contemporary, light and dark. It’s all moody Victorian glam in the older part of the house breaking out into a modern, earthy almost rustic extension. The best of both worlds. Hackney, London residence by Frank & Faber.
Our Parisian clients needed help to fully re-configure their new home to make every inch of space work for the family. The client embraces colour at every opportunity. We designed a bespoke internal timber framed glazing detail to create a sense of space and flood light throughout the property. The last home I featured by K&H Design was a fun one, but this one beats it hands down. That glazing, the bold colours, the floor tiles all together make this home an absolute joy. This beautiful terraced home in Fulham, London, is an energetic, colourful (in mostly small doses) space for an artist and art collector. Most of the walls were left muted to highlight the art, and the top floor was opened up to create a master suite and studio space. A wonderful project by Katie Glaister and Henry Miller-Robinson of K&H Design. (Photos: Simon Brown)
Do you know what I love about a good kitchen? Not the colour of the cabinets or whether the benchtops are stone. OK the layout is very important and I do love open shelving, contentious I know. No what I love about a good kitchen is clever storage and great design, a home for everything and everything in its home. Boards pull out from cabinets, garbage is sorted neatly and dogs have dinner stations. It’s the extras that make a kitchen special like this light-filled room by award winning kitchen design firm Studio Dearborn.
It’s like I say week in week out. If you have to drag yourself into work on a weekend it helps if it’s somewhere stylish. Real, a mental health wellness centre by BHDM.
