A fresh take on a classic Edwardian

Posted on Thu, 18 Mar 2021 by KiM

I love the contemporary vibes and brightness of this home, another project designed by IDF Studio. After purchasing a two-story flat in San Francisco’s Cow Hollow, our client asked IDF Studio to create a home that reflects her fun, playful personality and her love of animals. We embraced the challenge of including animal artwork and the color pink into a refined, sophisticated space.  Tonal pink features prominently in some spaces, and is a subtle accent in others.  The result is decidedly feminine.

I love this home! Eclectic with a bit of a traditional vibe mixed with cottage casual chicness. Such pretty and soothing colours. Designed by Meredith Kleinman.

Midnight blue

It’s not often I would call a minimalist scheme sensuous and dramatic. What typically springs to mind is cold and stark but in this Toorak house by Melbourne-based interior design firm Larritt-Evans the simple lines are enhanced by luxurious fabrics and sinuous lines. Those dark blue drapes are like looking into a midnight sky while the sweep of the staircase is more theatre than a means of transitioning a space.

Colourful and whimsical in a Harlem apartment

Posted on Mon, 8 Mar 2021 by KiM

WOW!!! Walking into the Harlem apartment of designer Courtney McLeod (of Right Meets Left Interior Design) must have everyone immediately grinning from ear to ear. This is BOLD and DRAMATIC and SO MUCH FUN! That saturated blue, mixed with orange and pink (and subtle red and green) is a quirky combination that works so beautifully. And a more calming bedroom with a stunning wallpaper adds sophistication. (Check out more of Courtney’s work here)

Pink and vintage in a Milan apartment

Posted on Sun, 7 Mar 2021 by KiM

This apartment in Milan (of fashion designer Federica Vieros) has many elements that really speak to me so I had to share. Swoon-worthy architecture, unique colour and wallpaper choices, and a covetable collection of vintage lighting, furnishings and accessories make this home absolutely delightful. Via sköna hem.
