A 19th century family home in Edinburgh

Posted on Mon, 2 Sep 2024 by KiM

Heriot Row in Edinburgh is a beautiful family home that dates back to the 1800’s. HZI were commissioned to renovate this historic five story property whilst retaining its heritage. With a combination of architectural and interior design, HZI remodelled the house giving this family of six more space by developing a basement extension. The bedrooms, three reception rooms, dining room, kitchen, gym and bathrooms were all updated, adding interest and character through architectural detailing, custom joinery, specialist plasterwork, furniture and fixtures.
In true Hubert Zandberg Interiors fashion, a beautiful home is made even more beautiful at his hand, with elements of sophistication, elegance and practicality. Layered and lovely! Photos: James McDonald.

Rustic barn with a mid-century twist

Posted on Fri, 30 Aug 2024 by midcenturyjo

Binker Barn designed in 1967 by William Turnbull for the Sea Ranch community in Sonoma County, California sits serenely in its surroundings. The interiors have been reimagined by Kay Kollar, emphasising a fabulous collection of mid-century pieces and jewell-like pops of colour. It’s a successful marriage of styles with an acknowledgement of the mid-century bones of this otherwise rustic space.

A 1770 riverfront home in Maryland

This is a lot of house for a vacation home but what a vacation home it is! Built in 1770, this riverfront home in Easton, Maryland designed by Jess Weeth of Weeth Home honours its history and was at the same time brought into the present making it a functional and beautiful for years to come. I love that it has a bit of sophistication, cottagecore, and beach vibes. Stunning. Photos: Keyanna Bowen.

A colourful beachside Nantucket cottage

Posted on Tue, 27 Aug 2024 by KiM

I love this little 2 bedroom beachside cottage in Nantucket that LA-based Kevin Isbell designed. The colours and patterns are so vibrant and fresh and perfect for cottage life. Then you have the gorgeous mural (by artist Audrey Sterk) in the “Whale Room” that was printed on grasscloth – an absolutely brilliant element to create a moody and enveloping space in the family room. Obsessed!!! Photos: Read McKendree.

I had to share another beautiful home designed by Brittany Bromley. This Bridgehampton stunner is filled with personality and lots of layers and textures with some help from grasscloth wallpapers. With accents of blue in each space it makes it very cohesive and flows really well. Love this! Photos: Annie Schlechter.
