It’s like I always say (except not too much lately), if you have to drag yourself into work on a weekend it helps if it looks great. Today’s workspace is a first for DTI. Part pastel Haussmannian, part post modernist homage meets contemporary bespoke, all with attention to medical precision it’s a plastic surgeon’s practice by French interior designers Agence Véronique Cotrel.

Stunning. That’s the word that springs to mind whenever I set eyes on the double height kitchen area in this London home by interior designer Amanda Durham. The renovation and extension in collaboration with Snell David Architects created a coherent family home from what was originally a rabbit warren of disjointed rooms. The new interiors are timeless and stylish, marrying modern and traditional but for me it’s still the kitchen that is the standout, a fabulous hub for a family home.

I’m stalking again. Walking down virtual streets, peering through the virtual nets and basically just being a virtual busy body. I love to see how people live even if it is a striped back and tidied up look to make the real estate listing photos just so. Today’s house in the Melbourne suburb of Armadale sports a late 19th century facade but a very modern rear addition and pool. The link to the listing is here while it lasts.

Simone Haag “likes to think of a house as a blank page, an empty book – boundless, full of possibilities – a story wanting to be written, a tale waiting to be told.” In the case of this Melbourne house she has penned a best seller. It’s a collaboration between stylish fashion director client and designer, the end result being a sensationally chic and fashion forward house. That living room sends shivers up and down my spine and did you notice the gradation in the dining chairs? Sigh!
